Smart Scale Components

Each FCA TruckWeight Smart Scale implementation consists, as a minimum, of a hand held receiver, one or more wireless sensors as required, 3/8" fittings, 3/8" tee, cable ties & batteries. Click on configure to find the quantity required for your rig.

Tools Required

Tools required for installation include cutters to cut into the plastic DOT tubing, a wrench to tighten the mounting bolts for each sensor and a screwdriver for installation of batteries into the sensor(s)

System Installation & Calibration

The installation of sensors is so simple that they can be installed in the field. The wireless sensor comes with all materials needed for installation.

• Install the batteries provided into the battery chamber of the Wireless Sensor module.
• Insert the screws and firmly tighten with a screw driver
• Locate the sensor on the position you wish to mount it on the rig (sensors can be mounted anywhere on the rig with the exception of inside a metal casing). Allow enough room for the battery cap to be removed so that the batteries can be changed.
• Once the sensor is located, test the radio signal with the hand held receiver from inside the cab and from other areas where you may wish to receive a signal during operation of the Smart Scale
• Once you have successfully completed this test, mount the sensor permanently onto the rig (use an existing hole on the frame of the vehicle if possible)
• Cut the airline and insert the Tee into the airline of the air suspension system between the airbags
• Cut a suitable length of DOT Tubing (not included) to run from the mounted Wireless sensor to the Tee
• Connect the DOT tubing to the Tee and to the Wireless Sensor
• Secure the DOT Tubing with the tie wraps provided
• Operate the hand held receiver to configure the setup of the rig, set the time, test the radio signal and complete the calibration of the system.
